- Where is Nandala Drive, Tanah Merah?
- 4 Nandala Drive, Tanah Merah QLD 4128, in the City of Logan. The council approval reference is Logan City Council MCUC/146/2024 and MCUC/145/2024.
- Which suburbs is Tanah Merah close to?
- Tanah Merah is a residential suburb in the City of Logan, about 27 km south east of central Brisbane, where the Logan River meets Slacks Creek. The Pacific Motorway and the Logan Motorway run along its edges, so Loganholme, Slacks Creek, Shailer Park, Daisy Hill and Springwood are a few minutes away by car, and Logan Hyperdome is the nearest major shopping centre.
- What is being built?
- Four rooming houses, operated by Parcare Lifestyle and let as rooming accommodation. Every unit has its own kitchenette and living area, one bedroom and one bathroom. Alongside the units there are communal areas you can use if you want to: a shared kitchen and dining space, a laundry, courtyards and a covered outdoor area with a BBQ for house catch ups. Units are described house by house on this page, by level, bathroom and outdoor space.
- When will the units be ready?
- Stage one (Buildings 1 and 2) is expected to be ready from 30 November 2026. A second stage (Buildings 3 and 4) is expected to be ready from 15 January 2027. Nothing is ready to move into yet, and building dates can move. Register your interest and we will tell you when a house is finished.
- How much is the rent?
- Rent is $350 per week per unit, including Internet and Outings. The rent and what it covers are written into the rooming accommodation agreement before you sign anything.
- Does every unit have its own bathroom?
- Yes. Every unit has its own bathroom. In each house, one ground floor unit has an accessible bathroom instead of an ensuite, and it belongs to that unit alone. No unit is certified to any accessibility standard, so please talk to us about your own access needs before you count on it.
- Is there a kitchen in each unit?
- Yes. Every unit has its own kitchenette and living area, so you can cook and eat at home in your own space. Each house also has a shared kitchen and dining space, which is a communal area you can use if you want to and never have to.
- Do I have to join in?
- No. The communal areas in each house, the Parcare community events and group activities, and the BBQ catch ups are all optional. Join in when you feel like it, and it is completely fine to keep to your own unit.
- Is this Supported Independent Living or Specialist Disability Accommodation?
- No. Units are let under a Queensland rooming accommodation agreement. The tenancy and any supports are separate: you choose your own support provider and can bring one you already trust. Parcare Lifestyle operates the site and can deliver supports, but taking supports from Parcare is not a condition of living here. This is not Supported Independent Living, an Individualised Living Option or Specialist Disability Accommodation, and registering does not guarantee a unit or any funding.
- How do I register my interest, and does it hold a unit?
- Registering your interest is not an application and it does not hold a unit. It tells us who is waiting, so we can come back to you with the rent, the agreement and an inspection once a house is finished. A support coordinator or family member can register for someone else. Register your interest on this site, or call (07) 3899 1759.
