Clock in when you arrive
- 1Open today's shift on the home screen and tap Clock in. The app takes a fresh GPS fix at that moment, it does not reuse an old location.
- 2Your position is checked against the shift's location: the SIL house pin (within 100m) or the participant's pickup coordinates for community shifts (within 200m).
- 3Inside the geofence, clock-in is instant and stamped as evidence of service delivery.
Outside the geofence or no GPS
Sometimes you are legitimately away from the pin (a community outing) or the phone cannot get a fix (a concrete building, no signal). The app does not block you.
- 1If you are outside the geofence, or GPS is unavailable, the app asks for a short written reason before it lets you clock in.
- 2Write what actually happened, for example At the shopping centre with the participant, or No GPS signal inside the house. Your reason is flagged for your support facilitator to review.
Do not invent a reason to get past the prompt. The override reason is part of the audit trail. A genuine one liner is all it needs.
Clock out and offline
- 1Tap Clock out when the shift ends. Clocking out is what unlocks the end of shift completion flow.
- 2No reception? Clock events queue on the phone and sync when you are back online, with the real time preserved. Clocking in twice by accident is handled safely, you will not create a duplicate.
Your clocked times are what payroll and billing read, so clock at the real start and end, not from the car park ten minutes early.
